For beginners and experienced meditators alike, Waking Up is for people who understand that meditation isn’t just about feeling better in the moment. Real meditation changes a person’s view of the world. WHY IS WAKING UP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER MEDITATION APPS? * Meditation is often taught as though it were an ancient version of an executive stress ball. But it’s more like the Large Hadron Collider. Waking Up users quickly understand that there are fundamental discoveries to be made in the laboratory of their own minds. * Waking Up guides you through a 50-day introductory course before unlocking access to an ongoing series of daily meditations. If you’re a novice, you need this. (And if you’re an experienced meditator, you probably do, too.) All meditations are created and led by Sam Harris. * Waking Up also contains a growing curriculum of short talks by Sam Harris on a wide variety of topics relevant for deepening your practice. * Waking Up never resorts to gimmicks or pseudoscience. The app contains only what you need to make fundamental insights into the nature of your mind. “I’ve been incredibly impressed with this app. Whether you want to sharpen your mind or experience more peace, this can help in dramatic fashion. The power of its progression is hard to overstate.” — Tim Ferriss Tim Ferriss is an early-stage investor in technology companies and the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers, including The 4-Hour Workweek and Tools of Titans. • Finally doing it!

    Door S. Lechheb
Thanks for everything you do Sam. I’ve tried a couple of meditation apps before, and they were all great. But I feel like this app has finally got me to practice consistently. And with learning any new skill, consistency is key. Not perfection. Thanks again. Forever grateful. 🙏🏻
  • Excellent material

    Door Deevautsee
As an experienced meditator who was looking to refresh his practice I can only say that this course was uniquely positioned to do so. It gets down to the essence of the traditional teaching, skipping unnecessary ceremony. The insights presented are brought in a light and piecemeal, yet thorough fashion. Wonderful!
  • Monk approved

    Door Ivo Mensch
I’m a zen buddhist monk, work as developmental coach and have many of my coachees enter into a meditation practice. I’ve tried and researched many apps, studied with enough meditation teachers to be able to say that Sam’s instruction is among the best I’ve come across. Highly recommended for anyone looking to start a practice or deepen and refresh an existing one.

    Love this app! Thanks Sam!
  • Much more than just a meditation app.

High quality content. In his app I found not only guided meditations one can find in other apps but also some helpful insights addressing mindfulness on more conceptual level. This is important those that need more than a blind belief in order to invest energy into something like meditation. This one feels like much more than just another life-hack to help surviving in the busy and confusing world although it does that as well. I hope to see that app continue to grow in terms of that quality content as it does now. Great work Sam, keep at it!

  • Technology for humans

    Door alextes2
If technology can be put to use in a way that is definitively positive, this is it. I can only hope many of Sam's followers unfamiliar with meditation give this app a try. It will take care of the rest effortlessly and that is a huge compliment.
  • Excellent guided meditation from a secular point of view

    Door tjwbronzwaer
Sam Harris is a clear thinker and excellent speaker, and I’ve enjoyed his books and podcast for over a decade now. I’ve been practicing mindfulness for a few years as well, but never with a guide or formal training. I figured Harris’ app would provide helpful guided meditation sessions, and I was not disappointed; I get far more out of these guided sessions than I get from meditating on my own. Harris’ style is secular, calm, and minimal. He ignores the religious aspects of meditation, treating it more as a “training of the mind”, much like physical exercise for the body. Nonetheless, Harris has a deep spiritual side; he explains that meditative experiences can be life-changing and beautiful in a way that many scientists fail to appreciate. His meditation style fits my worldview and personality like a glove, and I imagine this will be true for many others as well. Highly recommended!
  • Unique meditation experience

    Door Bwremjoe
I’ve used headspace for a while before, and I’m sure I still will, but Sam offers some extra facets that I really love. What to pay attention to? What does it feel like to be a conscious being in which sensations arise? Or even: what if get an itch? Recommended for beginners and practiced meditators alike!
  • Powerful combination

    Door M4ximuxxx
This is a great meditation app because it combines guided meditation sessions with deep philosophical lessons.
